May 15th was Alzheimer’s Prevention Day. We all know the incidence of this disease is increasing exponentially. What is not commonly known is that only a very small percentage of the increased risk of getting Alzheimer’s is attributed to genetics. The vast majority of risks are caused by contributing factors in our environment, eating habits, and general lifestyle. These are all measurable and therefore, most importantly, modifiable. The future of our brain is in our hands, not in our genetics.
Dr Sabine Donnai, founder and CEO of Viavi, joined a group of global experts and pioneers in this field to share the latest thinking on the positive steps we can all take to help prevent the disease.
